Meijer Deals!

We had another showing on Wednesday so I figured I'd do some deal shopping. There are plenty of deals at Meijer this week, so the kids and I (plus the dog in the car) headed to Meijer for some deals. We had an hour to kill so we ventured over to the toy section (which I usually avoid when I have the boys) and found a great clearance toy for my youngest's birthday in March.

I did two transactions so I could do the Mott's deal twice- and here were my totals:

When we were in the toy clearance, I found a Glow-doodle on clearance for $7.49- normally $14.99. That's going to be a great birthday gift for my almost 3 year old! Some of the other highlights of my trip were $.19 tuna (great donation items!), $.79 Batman toothbrushes (great reward for the boys being good while shopping), &.75 Barilla pasta sauce, FREE Pictionary card games, FREE Bic pens and super cheap Motts applesauce and apple juice.

Another double coupon Meijer trip!

I was in Jackson again yesterday without my kids and stopped at Meijer on my way home to use a couple good "doubler" coupons... here's what I ended up with:

4- Yoplait Greek Yogurt- $.99
$.50 off 2 printable

2- Old El Paso Enchilada Sauce- $1.29
2- Old El Paso Refried Beans- $1.05
4- $.50 off Old El Paso printable
** $.29 for enchilada sauce- $.05 for refried beans! **
(I could have gotten taco seasoning for free but figured since I got 8 Ortega seasonings free last week at Meijer I'd just get other things that normally cost me more!)

I did break this into 2 transactions because only 2 of each coupon double

Just like my last double coupon experience, I would have done better if the items I bought using the coupons were on sale, but it was still cheaper than waiting for the items to go on sale at home and using the coupon without the doubler...

Meijer doubles!!

This picture was from a couple weeks ago-- I was in Jackson without kids and went to Meijer there since they double coupons up to $.50! It was an unplanned shopping trip- so I sat in the car for a few minutes before I went in and pulled out any coupon I thought would be a good doubler and then started shopping.

I was pretty happy with that! It was a great experience- I wanted to see if it made much of a difference to get coupons doubled up to $.50. It definitely helped! I used several coupons that doubled on full price items because it was still a better deal than what I'd get at home without doubles.

I will be going out to Jackson in the next week or two again and have some more coupons set aside to get some freebies after they double. If we ever move to Lansing, I can see that having double coupons will definitely make a difference- I could actually save the coupon until the items are on sale. Until then, I'll just try to set aside coupons that I think will be good to double for the times I'm near a store that doubles!

Great trip to Meijer!

It's been quite awhile since I've posted a good Meijer shopping trip. I got my coupons partially organized yesterday and got coupons and a list ready for Meijer shopping today. I waited until today because of the 2 day sale (today and tomorrow). I did two separate transactions so that I could use the $4 Catalina I earned in the first transaction on the second one.

Some of the highlights from what I found in my coupon stack yesterday...
- Various $1 off 2 Kelloggs coupons I had found inside a box of cereal
- FREE Land O Lakes butter using coupon from mail in offer
- $2 off MPerks coupon
- $.14 Kraft salad dressing- found $.55 off printed coupons in my coupon stash, was on sale for $1.69 buy 5 items, get $5 off= $.14!!
- 12 boxes of Kelloggs cereal- ALL had the Cars 2 promotion on the box, so with these 12 I can get $15 in gas cards (3- $5 GAS gift cards)!!
- LOTS of stuff for Smores to take on vacation in July! Buy 3 grahams, get FREE milk (which I was going to buy anyways), PLUS printable coupon for $1 off when you buy 2 Hersheys!
- found a couple Catalina coupons from Meijer for Cottonelle- $2 off each pack- making that a good deal on TP after the $4 Kimberly Clark Catalina

This has definitely been my week for couponing! We had a house showing today so I figured it was a good time to get some groceries.

It was a very strange checkout experience... I had a terrible cashier that took forever. She was from a different department and got pulled to the registers. I had a couple free coupons and I didn't know the prices of the items. She didn't know how to look up the prices, and when she asked the cashier next to her he told her to give the full value of the coupon. I did the right thing and told the other cashier that the items did not cost that much and he told me not to worry about it. So, I ended up geting a couple moneymakers! I had 2 Free Philadelphia Cooking Creme coupons and they were $2.99 and they keyed the coupons for $4.49 each so I made $1.50 for each one! But, when I got home I did see that I got overcharged for strawberries- somehow she got them to ring up at $4.99 instead of $2.00, so I already called and will go get the difference this evening.

Some of the best deals were Greenworks Dish Soap for $.23 and free milk for buying Nutri Grain bars and Rice Krispies. And, of course I made sure the Nutri Grain bars we grabbed had the Cars 2 codes on them so we can get a $5 gas card or $5 concession cash. I also found in my coupon binder a $2 off coupon for Greenworks glass cleaner when you buy Greenworks multi-purpose spray so I had to do 3 transactions so I could get both cleaners for only $.23 also. When you buy 2 Greenworks products, you get $2 off instantly but you can only do so once per transaction. There were $1 off peelies on the dish soap, but you can also print a coupon from the Greenworks website to use. I also stocked up on frozen veggies which were only $.55 after my $1 off 3 coupons.

CHEAP laundry detergent at Meijer!

I had read somewhere that there may be tearpads at Meijer for Purex laundry detergent, and as I was shopping at the Shaver Rd. store in Portage I found a tearpad right next to the Purex on sale!

I am normally pretty particular about my laundry detergent, but for $.99 I'll try this! I got 3 bottles- each a different kind!

Meijer Shopping!

I stopped at Meijer yesterday to grab some plastic envelopes for my purse and some almost free Mccormick seasoning and stumbled across a great clearance find. Check out the planter I found on clearance for only $3.24! This is perfect for all the balls that are everywhere in my house! I found this in the seasonal department at the Meijer on Westnedge if you're interested- they still had about 8 left!

I can't find my receipts right now to tell you the exact price of all of this, but I think it was around $8 for everything and I have one $2.50 Catalina still to use! I also got 6 different plastic envelopes that were on sale to put in my purse for organizing coupons for each store (Meijer, Target, Rite Aid, Walgreens). I still love my coupon binder, but I often like to just grab the coupons I plan to use on each trip and put them in something. I had too many plastic ziploc baggies floating around in my purse...
