Meijer doubles!!

This picture was from a couple weeks ago-- I was in Jackson without kids and went to Meijer there since they double coupons up to $.50! It was an unplanned shopping trip- so I sat in the car for a few minutes before I went in and pulled out any coupon I thought would be a good doubler and then started shopping.

I was pretty happy with that! It was a great experience- I wanted to see if it made much of a difference to get coupons doubled up to $.50. It definitely helped! I used several coupons that doubled on full price items because it was still a better deal than what I'd get at home without doubles.

I will be going out to Jackson in the next week or two again and have some more coupons set aside to get some freebies after they double. If we ever move to Lansing, I can see that having double coupons will definitely make a difference- I could actually save the coupon until the items are on sale. Until then, I'll just try to set aside coupons that I think will be good to double for the times I'm near a store that doubles!

Kelloggs deals at Meijer

I got a great deal on cereal last night at Meijer... I'll definitely be going back for more this week! We were getting pretty low on cereal.

A variety of Kelloggs cereals are $2.50 each this week at Meijer AND when you buy 4, you get $2.00 off instantly!!

I also had a $2 off $2 purchase coupon in my MPerks account to use, so I only ended up paying $3.60 for 4 boxes of cereal! If you haven't yet signed up for MPerks, sign up now! It's a great program to save even more at Meijer- and the coupons you "clip" are stackable with manufacturer coupons! All you need to have is a phone that can receive texts to sign up. Not only do you get normal coupons but you also get coupons like this one about once a month or so where it's $2 or $5 off your transaction.

This has definitely been my week for couponing! We had a house showing today so I figured it was a good time to get some groceries.

It was a very strange checkout experience... I had a terrible cashier that took forever. She was from a different department and got pulled to the registers. I had a couple free coupons and I didn't know the prices of the items. She didn't know how to look up the prices, and when she asked the cashier next to her he told her to give the full value of the coupon. I did the right thing and told the other cashier that the items did not cost that much and he told me not to worry about it. So, I ended up geting a couple moneymakers! I had 2 Free Philadelphia Cooking Creme coupons and they were $2.99 and they keyed the coupons for $4.49 each so I made $1.50 for each one! But, when I got home I did see that I got overcharged for strawberries- somehow she got them to ring up at $4.99 instead of $2.00, so I already called and will go get the difference this evening.

Some of the best deals were Greenworks Dish Soap for $.23 and free milk for buying Nutri Grain bars and Rice Krispies. And, of course I made sure the Nutri Grain bars we grabbed had the Cars 2 codes on them so we can get a $5 gas card or $5 concession cash. I also found in my coupon binder a $2 off coupon for Greenworks glass cleaner when you buy Greenworks multi-purpose spray so I had to do 3 transactions so I could get both cleaners for only $.23 also. When you buy 2 Greenworks products, you get $2 off instantly but you can only do so once per transaction. There were $1 off peelies on the dish soap, but you can also print a coupon from the Greenworks website to use. I also stocked up on frozen veggies which were only $.55 after my $1 off 3 coupons.

I had read somewhere that there may be tearpads at Meijer for Purex laundry detergent, and as I was shopping at the Shaver Rd. store in Portage I found a tearpad right next to the Purex on sale!

Meijer Shopping

I was going through printable coupon withdrawal... my printer ran out of ink a couple days ago and I had a ton of stuff I had sent to the printer that I couldn't print. So, I called a couple stores for prices on ink cartridges for my printer today- I ended up just getting it at Meijer- it was the same price as everywhere else but I got a $10 Gift Card for spending over $29 on HP ink! Thanks Heather at Spectacular Savings for posting that one! I was planning on going to Meijer anyways so this worked just fine..

I did 2 transactions so I could get my gift card and use it towards my groceries.

Plus, now that there's ink in my printer I could print all my coupons that were pending for the printer!

Meijer Shopping

It's been quite some time since I've posted a good Meijer shopping trip. I had big plans to list each item I bought with the coupons and discounts like I list my Rite Aid deals, but I just don't have the time today so I'll give you links for matchups and the highlights... I had a great shopping trip at Meijer yesterday- it's been awhile since I've saved as much as I did.

Some of the highlights were 8 FREE bottles of Pompeian Olive Oil, 8 jars of $.67 Classico Pasta Sauce, 10 bricks of Kraft cheese for $1.00 each (not the best deal but an okay price), 12 boxes of Jello for $.04 each, TP for $1.66 and $1.00 chicken sausage. I also bought flour but that missed the picture.

I bought $191.73 worth of groceries for $65.67!! I saved $126.06! It's been quite some time since I've saved this much at Meijer.

My plan was only to do the cheese deal twice (20 cheeses) but I had 2 more coupons with me and they were really well stocked and I figured I couldn't beat $.17 per item. I already put most of it in the freezer... That definitely gives me a good start to the month- I'm at 66.9% savings for that shopping trip-- my goal is to save at least 60%.
