November Rite Aid Summary

At the end of the month, I really like to see how much I spent total at Rite Aid and what I ended up getting. I know, I am a bit of a coupon dork, but it's fun for me! Here is what November looked like for me at Rite Aid:

$463.59 before coupons and discounts
-$131.86 Wellness Plus savings and sales
-$58.00- $10- $5.00 off $25.00 coupons, 2- $4.00 off $20.00 coupons
-$86.98 +Up Rewards used
-$102.02 coupons
-$20.00 gift cards from previous promotions
======================================
$64.73 total out of pocket
SCR's were a bit disappointing this month- I only have $5.00 coming for batteries.

My OOP was a bit higher than some months, but I did buy a total of 17 packages of diapers, 2 refill packages of wipes, 1 really big refill box of wipes, paper towel, 4 packages of batteries and a bunch of other stuff. I do use my previous SCR's towards my purchases and my check from October was $30.92- so I didn't spend that much out of pocket...

Last week's Rite Aid shopping picture

I had another good shopping trip to Rite Aid last week. It wasn't a freebie week, but I did get some really good deals on things I needed and wanted. I'm not going to detail the transactions since these were last week's deals.

I bought 4 packages of batteries, 2 refill packages of wipes, 3 Reach dental floss, Sinex, Biggest Loser Shapewear and trash bags...

$93.14 before coupons and discounts
-$30.83 Wellness Plus savings and sales
-$10.00- 2- $5.00 off $25.00 coupons
-$9.00 previously earned +Up Rewards
-$15.75 coupons
-$10.00 gift card from previous promotion
======================================
$17.56 total out of pocket!
PLUS I get a $5.00 SCR for the batteries!

Hopefully I'll get my monthly summary for November posted later today.

Cyber Shopping? Make sure to get your Ebates!

Ebates is a free rewards program that pays you cash rewards for shopping online. There are TONS of available stores and as long as you sign up for Ebates and use their site to get to the site you are shopping on, you earn a percentage back for each purchase! Some of my favorites are Shutterfly (10% back), Old Navy (4%), Target (3%) and Diapers.com (1-4%). There are tons of stores, so before shopping, definitely check this site because there are WAY too many to mention.

The only thing you have to do different when shopping is going through the Ebates site to get to the site where you are shopping. Each quarter you earn rewards, and after $5 in earnings each quarter you get a check in the mail (the pay schedule is listed on their site). If you don’t earn $5 in a particular quarter you don’t lose your earnings, they just don’t pay out until you hit the $5 mark… Go here to sign up and start earning!

It's a great, simple program that pays you money for normal online shopping. I've been a member since February and I earned over $20 in rewards ($5 of that was my free $5 for joining) for my first check. When you sign up, you get $5 added to your account, but in order to get paid out you still have to earn $5 in rewards. If you have questions, email me or leave a comment... it's really easy and it's another great way to get paid for something really easy!

End of month printing...

It's almost the end of the November, so now is the time to make sure you get all your coupons printed before they reset.

Coupons.com is starting to limit prints to one on some coupons so don't be surprised when you can only print one of something.

Also, make sure to watch any Rite Aid Video Values coupons of items you might want next month. You don't have to print them now, just watch them so if there is a sale you will have the coupon.

Check my sidebar for links to other printable coupon sites (Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, etc.)

Keep checking Coupons.com for the next couple days because the end of the month and beginning of the month coupons are always resetting, coming and going!

Bummer!

I actually made it into the store at Toys R Us lat night but ended up walking out empty handed. They were out of everything I was looking for!
I'm crossing my fingers that they do lots of the Friday/Saturday sales like they did last year- I need some cheap Christmas gifts!

Black Friday Update...

This year I decided not to brave the crowds at 5am for Black Friday shopping. My neighbor and I were very excited to go to Toys R Us last night at 10pm... only to end up leaving after waiting outside for an hour. Very disappointing! The line was wrapped around the building and behind the building and for what we were looking for it just wasn't worth the wait. They were only letting 10 people in at a time... Most of the things I was going for are on sale until tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get out this evening (without kids!) and see what is left.

I guess that's the good thing about couponing- I know that there are always deals and that if I miss one I'll find another. After we gave up at Toys R Us we had fun driving past the other stores to see all the lines- Old Navy, Target and Best Buy all had pretty big lines- but the Best Buy people sure know how to do these lines- every single person was in their tent staying warm AND Best Buy had a trailer with porta-potties!! Walmart had a good idea too to start their deals at midnight- we drove past our Walmart at 11pm and they had the parking lot full! Since they were open they didn't have the ridiculous line outside the store.

I did get to Target today- that was fun! My oldest turns 4 in a couple weeks so I get to buy birthday and Christmas presents for him. I got some DVD's that were on sale pretty cheap and the space ship my son wanted.

Rite Aid Shopping- trip #2

I just couldn't pass up trying to get more diapers this week. I went to the other store in town (Cork St) and they still had some Huggies Little Snugglers and Little Movers left in stock and they had plenty of Overnites and Goodnites.

First Transaction:

Huggies Goodnites & Huggies Overnites- $8.99 (plus $3.00 +Up Reward)
$1.50 off Goodnites from 11/14 SS
$1.50 off any Huggies diaper from 11/14 SS
** $7.49 PLUS $3.00 +Up Reward **

Advil Liquid Gels- $3.99
FREE product coupon previously available by mail
** FREE- I wasn't paying too much attention and the cashier put the coupon through as the price on the box which was $4.79- so this was an $.80 money maker! **

2- Mentos Gum- $1.00
2- $1.00 coupon from 10/3 SS
** 2 for FREE!! **

$32.97 before coupons and discounts
-$7.98 sales
-$5.00 off $25.00
-$9.00 previously earned +Up Rewards
-$9.79 coupons
======================
$1.20 out of pocket
PLUS $6.00 in +Up Rewards earned!

Transaction #2

3- Huggies Little Movers- $8.99 (get $3.00 +Up Reward)
3- $2.00 off coupon from 11/14 SS
** $6.99 each PLUS $3.00 +Up Reward for each! **

$37.29 total before coupons and discounts
-$5.00 off $25.00
-$6.00 previously earned +Up Rewards
-$6.00 coupons
======================
$11.29 out of pocket
PLUS $9.00 in +Up Rewards earned

Totals for both transactions
$70.26 before coupons and discounts
-$16.98 sales
-$10.00- 2- $5 off $25 coupons
-$15.00 +Up Rewards previously earned
-$15.79 coupons
=======================
$12.49 total out of pocket for both- for 5 jumbo packs of diapers! PLUS $9.00 in +Up Rewards left to spend!

I messed up a little and should have switched my transactions around so I could have used $9 in +Up Rewards versus the $6 in +Up Rewards I got in the first transaction. I also wanted to get paper towels and completely forgot (that's what having kids does to you!). I looked for travel size bandaids- they are on sale buy one get one 50% off- $.99 each- and you get a $2.00 +Up Reward when you buy 2. But, the Cork St store had only one left so I missed out on that deal.

Free Garnier Haircolor!

Go here and fill out the short form to request a coupon for a free box of Garnier Haircolor. I get my hair colored at a salon, but I'll get this free for a family member or donate it! Coupons like this are great to save as filler items at Rite Aid or to save for a week you can get an +Up Reward for buying it!

Thanks Printable Coupons and Deals!

Walgreens Deal Pictures

Earlier this week I had some Register Rewards to spend and I found that Nabisco Ritz Crackers were on sale 2 for $5, plus there is a $1.00 off 2 coupon in the November Walgreens coupon booklet (found in stores). There was a $1.00 off 2 Nabisco crackers coupon in last week's (11/14) Smart Source, making the crackers only $1.50 a box. When I went in on Wednesday I found that the Ritz Munchables Pretzel/Crackers were included in the sale. I was looking in my coupon binder this morning and found that I had a coupon for $1.00 off the pretzel crackers that was in the 8/29 SS. So, I went back for more- since now they were only $1.00 a box!

Here's what I ended up getting:

3- Gain Dish Soap- $.89
$1.00 off coupon from 10/31 P&G
** FREE PLUS possible $.11 money maker after coupon!! **
I'm not a big Walgreens shopper so I don't know if they always let you get overage, but I was able to get overage for all 3 of these!

2- Ritz Munchables- 2 for $5.00
2- $1.00 off Ritz Munchables from 8/29 SS
$1.00 off 2 coupon from November Walgreens coupon booklet
** $1.00 each! **

$9.53 Total before coupons
-$5.00 manufacturer coupons
-$2.70 Walgreens coupons
==========================
$1.83 out of pocket! Not too bad for 3 bottles of dish soap and 2 boxes of crackers!

Rosetti Frozen Pasta coupon

Here is a coupon for $1.50 off 2 Rosetti frozen pasta.

Where was this the other day when I went to Meijer and my son begged me for some ravioli?? Rosetti frozen pasta was either on sale or price drop this week at Meijer for $3.00- that's cheaper than Meijer brand.

Thanks Printable Coupons and Deals!

Birthday Rewards!

So, I celebrated my 31st birthday on Wednesday, and was pleasantly surprised to get a few fun emails for my birthday! Turning 31 isn't too exciting... but getting a few freebies always makes for a good day!

Swag Bucks sent me an email to let me know that I got 50 BONUS Swag Bucks as a Happy Birthday gift! If you're a member of Swag Bucks, make sure you have your birthday entered in your profile so you can collect on your birthday.

Disney Movie Rewards also sent me an email. All I had to do for them was to click on the email they sent me and sign-in to my Disney Movie Rewards account to collect my 100 points for my birthday! If you haven't yet joined Disney Movie Rewards, I'd suggest joining- especially if you have kids. I went through our DVD collection when I joined and found several rewards codes that gave me a good start. I also learned that a couple of my Disney DVD's came with digital copies of the DVD and the code to get the digital copies is the same as the rewards code so I was able to look into my points history and get a couple kids DVD's for our IPod.

It's Mega Swag Bucks Day!

It's Mega Swag Bucks Day today! This means more Swag Bucks for your same everyday searching. Make sure to check special offers (you don't have to sign up for anything, just browse through them), answer the daily poll and check for surveys each day for one point each- 3 extra points each day do add up!

It's a great way to get free gift cards and rewards for everyday internet surfing! My favorite reward is a $5 Amazon gift card for only 450 Swag Bucks. I wanted to save them all for Christmas time but keep using them to order cheap diapers!

I don't have the toolbar and still earn tons of points (I don't want any more programs running on my computer). I just keep signed into Swag Bucks all the time and use them to find the websites I'm visiting.

Is couponing really worth it?

So, after awhile of couponing you have to ask yourself, is this really worth it? Is it worth my time? Is it worth having to buy a couple printer cartridges each year, some printer paper and some extra Sunday papers?

The answer is YES!! As I was just putting my grocery shopping and Walgreens trip into my savings tracker, I looked at the total amount I have saved this year from coupons-- $3,971.34!! Now that's just using coupons- printed, newspaper inserts and store coupons. My average savings for the entire year is 63%!! The personal goal I had set back in January was to average 60% savings. There have been a couple months that I've been a bit under that, but also there have been months that I've beat that- and to be at 63% savings for the year to me is awesome.

If you haven't been following my blog since the beginning, I found a Savings Tracker that allows you to track your sales and coupon savings. There is also a rebate tab on the worksheet- I put all my submitted rebates on the list and fill in when I receive them to make sure I get all my rebates.

Have you been tracking your savings? How are you doing for the year? I'm doing great keeping my savings percentage high but I still am working to keep within a set budget... every month something always seems to come up and I always end up spending more than I want to.

Another Walgreens Trip

Since I skipped Rite Aid this week and got some deals at Walgreens, I figured I'd go back again and use some of my Register Rewards since we needed more batteries.

I really do prefer the +Up Rewards program at Rite Aid versus the Register Rewards program at Walgreens. If you haven't shopped Walgreens before, the RR's are treated as manufacturer coupons, and you can't have more manufacturer coupons than items you are buying. For example- I was buying batteries for $5.99 and using a $.75 off coupon. I had to buy a "filler" item if I wanted to redeem a RR so that I could use my manufacturer coupon and my RR. So, I bought some stickers for my kids and I was able to use my $6.00 RR.

Batteries- $5.99-$.75 coupon= $5.29
Stickers- $1.19

$10.11 before coupons and sales
-$2.50 sales
-$.75 manufacturer coupon
-$6.00 Register Reward redeemed
=========================
$.86 ($.43 of this was tax!)
PLUS I got another $1.00 RR for buying the batteries!

La Brea Bakery Bread Coupons

I found a great frozen bread to use to for dipping with all my free olive oil from Meijer a couple weeks ago-- and of course, I found a coupon for it! Go here to print a coupon for $1.00 off 2 La Brea Bakery breads. It's really yummy bread- and very handy since it's in the freezer and only takea around 10 minutes to warm up. Right now it's on price drop at Meijer for $3.00- you get 4 small loaves so it's a decent price.

So, as you may have noticed, I've been terrible about posting Meijer matchups lately- I just don't have the time or energy. Hope that makes it easier for everyone to get to several sites to get the best deals!
