Another Rite Aid trip

I found a pile of Huggies coupons that were still good and figured I'd go back to Rite Aid while diapers & wipes were on sale with an +Up Reward.

2- Goodnites- $8.99 (plus $2.00 +Up Reward)
2- $1.00 off coupon from contacting company
** $7.99 PLUS 2- $2.00 +Up Rewards **

Huggies Overnites- $8.99 (plus $2.00 +Up Reward)
$2.00 off coupon from home mailer
** $6.99 PLUS $2.00 +Up Reward **

Huggies Wipes- $8.99 (plus $2.00 +Up Reward)
$.75 off wipes coupon from home mailer
** $8.24 PLUS $2.00 +Up Reward **

Huggies Supreme- $8.99 (plus $2.00 +Up Reward)
$1.00 off Huggies product coupon from contacting company
** $7.99 PLUS $2.00 +Up Reward **

$62.65 before coupons and discounts
-$15.00 sales and Wellness Plus savings
-$6.00 previously earned +Up Rewards
-$5.75 coupons
=================================
$35.90 OOP AND, I have $10.00 in +Up Rewards to use still. I put all of this in one transaction because there is a new Kimberly Clark rebate that might be available and if it's available at Rite Aid I'll get a $10 rebate by mail! I've read mixed postings if Rite Aid qualifies so I'm waiting for confirmation.

Target shopping

I kept hearing about a great deal on frozen foods at Target this week and figured I'd give it a try. We had a showing on our house this afternoon so my dog (don't worry, she gladly slept in the car while I went couponing) and I went to the Target in town that has a larger grocery section to see what we could find. I was pretty happy with my haul!

Target's deal this week is when you buy 7 frozen food items you get a $5 gift card. They have a huge selection of frozen food items, so I ended up getting veggies, potatoes, frozen juice and even Morningstar Farms "chick-n" nuggets.

Here's the highlights- the prices I'm listed are before the gift card deal:

First Transaction:

2- Morningstar Farms Chick-N Nuggets- $3.49
2- $1.00 off from boxes previously purchased
$2.49

2- Green Giant Steamers- $1.88
$.50 off 2 printable (not sure where I printed this from)

10- Old Orchard Frozen Juice Concentrate- $1.12 each
2- $1.00 off 4 printable
1- $.50 off 2 from home mailer
$.87 each

$21.94 before coupons
-$5.00 coupons
** $16.94 OOP ** PLUS $10 in gift cards!

Second Transaction:

2- Alexia Sweet Potato Fries- $2.44
2- $1.00 off printable coupons$1.44 each

12- Birds Eye Frozen Veggies- $1.02
4- $1.00 off 3 coupons from 1/23 SS
$.69 each

$17.89 before coupons
-$6.00 coupons
-$10.00 gift cards from previous transaction
** $1.89 OOP PLUS $10 more in gift cards!! **

Third Transaction

Seventh Generation Dish Soap- $2.69
$1.00 off Target printable
$1.00 off coupon from 1/23 RP
$.69

Seventh Generation Spray Cleaners- $2.99
2- $1.00 off Target printable
2- $1.00 off coupon from 1/23 RP
$.99 each

5- Up & Up Pain Reliever- $.97 or $.99 (24 ct)
5- $1.00 off Up & Up pain relief
5 for FREE!!

$13.76 before coupons
-$12.87 coupons (the pain relief coupons brought the totals down to 0 and did not give overage)
-$.89 gift card
** FREE!! **

So, in all, I spent $18.83 OOP for $53.59 worth of products! PLUS, I still have $9.11 left in gift cards- so if you take the gift cards remaining out of my total OOP, everything in the picture would only be $9.72! That's for 14 bags of frozen veggies, 2 frozen "chick-n" nuggets, 2 bags of potatoes, 10 cans of frozen juice, 5 bottles of pain reliever, 2 spray cleaners and dish soap. Seriously? That's a great deal!

FREE Finish Quantum at Target!

Although I had a rough start to this week with the storm damage, my Tuesday got much brighter after a little couponing. I stopped at Target this morning to see if I could get some free Finish Quantum and sure enough, I could! I was so excited to see that they had plenty in stock and my coupons went through just fine. All I had to pay was sales tax!

4- Finish Quantum 10 ct- $2.50 each
4- $1.50 off Target printable
4- $1.00 off printable here or here (should be able to print 2 from each link)
** 4 for FREE!! **

$18.00 before coupons and discounts
-$7.76 sales (these are normally $4.44)
-$10.00 coupons
=====================
$.24 OOP- I only had to pay sales tax!

Thanks Totally Target! The price of $2.50 is a price cut that should be good through 3/12 so print these from as many computers as you can to get a great stockpile!

Stocked up on diapers again!

Our diaper stockpile was still pretty low, so I was happy to see that there was a diaper deal at Rite Aid again this week. All the Huggies newspaper coupons have expired but I just got a new direct mailer last week so I had some decent coupons to use. We were almost out of wipes (how could I let that happen?) so I was planning on getting some of those as well- which I ended up with an even better deal on than I planned!

All the Huggies diapers and boxes of wipes are on sale this week for $8.99 with a $2.00 +Up Reward for each.

Huggies Pure & Natural Diapers- $8.99
-$2.50 off from mailer
** $6.49 PLUS $2.00 +Up Reward earned **

Huggies Supreme- $8.99
-(2) $2.00 off coupons from mailer
** $6.99 each PLUS 2- $2.00 +Up Rewards earned

Huggies Shea Butter Wipes- 320 ct ** 50% clearance!! **
** These were next to the wipes that were on sale for $8.99, but had a clearance sticker on the box with a 50% off sign on the shelf-- when they scanned they scanned at $8.99, not $5.99 like they should have (50% off $11.99 regular price). The cashier "fixed" it by giving me the second box for free- which made for an even better deal for me! **
$8.99 for 2 boxes
-$1.00 off wipes coupon from mailer
-$.50 off wipes coupon from mailer
** $7.49 for 2 boxes of wipes PLUS I got 2- $2.00 +UP Rewards!! **

Huggies Goodnites- $8.99
** $8.99 PLUS $2.00 +Up Reward earned **
(sadly, I didn't have a coupon for these but I did use +Up Rewards to pay for them)

I did do two separate transactions so I could use some of my +Up Rewards, and I did use my $20 Winter Rewards +Up Reward towards these.

$73.44 before coupons, sales and discounts
-$26.99 sales and Wellness Plus savings
-$8.00 coupons
-$34.00 previously earned +Up Rewards
=====================================
$4.45 OOP PLUS I still have $6.00 in +Up Rewards to spend!

Definitely check around the wipes section if you plan on going to Rite Aid-- they must be changing the packaging on some of the wipes so many are clearanced at 50% off-- just make sure they have the yellow sticker on the package and make sure they scan correctly.

The yellow sticker to look for:

One bad day!

Anyone want to guess where the rest of this tree landed?

Yup- you guessed right- on my house- and then the ground... not without taking out some gutters, the antenna, our fence and a bit of roof damage.
It was not a fun President's Day! I'm so done with winter!

Earn more Amazon gift cards!

If you like Amazon gift cards, here's another way to earn one for $10-- writing reviews at Viewpoints!

- The reviews must be at least 900 characters (NOT words- characters- and there is a character counter so you know how many you have written- it's not as bad as it sounds)
- Must be written between Feb. 14- Feb. 23, 2011
- Fall within these categories: Home & Garden, Family & Pets, Health & Beauty, Kitchen (excluding food and beverages), Computers and Electronics.
- Be about real products; inappropriate, copied or bogus content will be removed

Go here to read all the details about the promotion. I had been posting these promotions because I was hesitant at first, but I have done two of these now and received the gift cards both times! The gift card will be emailed to you within a month of the promotion completion.

I have found that cleaning products and baby products were the easiest for me to write reviews about. It really doesn't take very long to do these- last month's promo required 11 reviews and I did them in about 30 minutes.

A bit more Rite Aid shopping

You have all probably learned already that I just can't pass up a good week at Rite Aid- or only go one time. I love stocking up while things are free or close to free!! I had a little bit of time today to run a couple errands without kids and figured I'd see what both Rite Aid stores in town had to offer. As you can see, I may have gone a bit overboard! I got more Degree coupons online and figured I'd really stock up (yes, we probably have a good year's supply here) on deodorant for my hubby. I'm determined not to pay full price on it again- the last time I bought it I paid full price at Walgreens because I didn't realize my hubby was completely out- and I swore I would never do that again.

I did buy from both stores so I didn't clear any shelves. I had 2 rainchecks for the Jif peanut butter from a couple weeks ago- I was happy to see that was finally back in stock!

18- Degree Deodorant- $2.00 (get $2 +UP when you buy 2)
$.75 off from 1/30 RP
**$1.25 each OOP PLUS $2.00 +Up Reward for buying 2= $.25 each after +Up Reward!**

6- Ziploc Bags- $2.29 (w/ 20% off Wellness Plus discount- $2.50 w/o discount)- (get $2 +Up when you buy 2)
$1.00 off 2 from 1/9 SS
** $1.79 each OOP PLUS $2.00 +Up Reward earned= $.79 each after +Up Reward!! **

2- Maalox- $4.99 (PLUS $1.00 +Up Reward)
$5.00 off from 1/9 SS
** $.01 money maker PLUS $1.00 +Up Reward= $1.01 money maker after +Up Reward! **
(Now, we don't really need any Maalox but if they'll pay me $1.00 to take it home, I'll take the Maalox and $1 and find someone who would like some Maalox!!)

2- Coca-cola- 12 pk- $4.23 (w/ 20% Wellness Plus discount)
FREE product coupons from My Coke Rewards
** only paid $1.20 deposit for these! **

4- Jif Peanut Butter- $1.99 with raincheck (PLUS $1.00 +Up Reward!)
$1.00 off 2 Video Values coupon
** $1.49 OOP for each PLUS $1.00 +Up Reward= $.49 after +Up Reward! **

** Total for all 4 transactions **
$126.73 before coupons, sales and discounts
-$45.74 Wellness Plus savings and sales
-$26.00 +Up Rewards redeemed
-$36.96 coupons
-$3.00 Video Values coupons (3- $1 off $1 coupons)
=============================================
$15.03 OOP PLUS I earned my $20.00 Winter Reward for February AND I have $8.00 more in +Up Rewards to spend at Rite Aid.

Seriously- $126 worth of merchandise for $15 PLUS more +Up Rewards to spend? Rite Aid is so much fun!

Deodorant stockup at Rite Aid!

My husband was running very low on his favorite deodorant and I have been waiting for a great chance to stock up and this week is the week! I bought 10, but then realized as I was checking out that I only had 8 coupons with me... but I still bought 10 anyways.

10- Degree Deodorant- $2.00 (get $2 +UP when you buy 2)
8- $.75 off from 1/30 RP
** 8 @ $1.25 plus 2 @ $2.00 each PLUS 5- $2.00 +Up Rewards earned! **

I did 2 transactions so I could use some of the +Up Rewards to pay for my second transaction.

$39.10 before coupons and discounts
-$17.90 Wellness Plus savings and sales
-$2.00 off $2.00 purchase Video Values coupon
-$6.00 coupons
-$6.00 +Up Rewards redeemed
============================
$7.20 OOP PLUS $4.00 left in +Up Rewards- After the +Up Rewards that's only $.32 for each deodorant!

I'm sure I'll find the missing coupons (and hopefully more coupons) and go back later this week for more.

Rite Aid Shopping

I had a few extra minutes this morning and thought I'd get my weekly Rite Aid shopping in. I ended up with a great trip!

8- Bounty Paper Towels- single roll- $1.29 BOGO
4- $1.00 off 2 from 1/30 P&G
** $.29 for 2 rolls! **

Viactiv Vitamins 60 ct- $3.99 (raincheck from last week- sale was $6.99 plus $3.00 +Up so they wrote the raincheck for $3.99)
$3.00 off coupon from 1/16 SS

$14.62 before coupons and discounts
-$5.16 Wellness Plus savings and sales
-$7.00 coupons

Now, we still have loads of paper towels at home but I couldn't pass up more at this price! If you're shopping at the Portage store- they had tons of single roll paper towels left. I'm pretty sure I still have a couple more coupons so I'll probably end up going back again!

One big coupon mess!

Tonight I decided to try to get my coupons under control... we've been so busy getting the house cleaned and organized to get it on the market and ready for pictures and our open house that my coupons were just thrown into my van. I figured I was long overdue for a coupon purge... and boy was that an understatement! I had expired printables from January (and even a few from the end of December), piles and piles of inserts to be filed and inserts to purge. My dog (Maizy) decided to help me with this project since the kids were sleeping.

I organize my coupons in a couple different ways. I do have my coupon binder (which also got a purge tonight) that I sort my clipped coupons into by type of coupon. I also have just a small plastic container for clipped coupons that still need to be put into the binder (that's not in the picture). Then I have my file for inserts. I keep my inserts for quite awhile- you never know when you're going to want to go back to an old insert for a deal. I usually try to go through my file every month or so and get rid of inserts with all expired coupons, but I guess I haven't done that for awhile. I started with all my June inserts and ended up getting rid of all of June-October with only a small pile of coupons that had not expired...

The HUGE pile of inserts with all expired coupons!

The few coupons I clipped...

I still have more work to do, but I think I've accomplished enough to call it a night! I still need to finish going through the December inserts, and I need to go back through the January inserts and do some clipping.

If you're wondering how this file is organized- I put each type of each week's inserts (SS, P&G, RP) into a plastic sleeve and file it by date, so that way when there's a sale with a particular coupon I haven't clipped, I can easily find it. I still do try to clip coupons that I plan to use, but if I don't have time, it's at least easy to locate coupons.

And here's your DUH moment for the night if you're somewhat new to couponing. On the spine of each week's inserts, the date of the insert and the newspaper it was in is listed. I still will write the date on the front of the insert to make it easier, but if you get inserts from multiple sources like I do it makes it pretty easy to figure out which insert is from when if you check the spine.

-Sorry-- my zoom got fuzzy as I got close but you can see where to look for the date.

And that's enough coupon organizing for me for one night!

Do you subscribe by email yet?

Did you know that you can subscribe to my blog by email? I know it's more fun to check the site constantly (I'm constantly checking all the blogs I follow), but getting emails is a great way to make sure you aren't missing any deals.

In the top left corner of my blog there is a box to enter your email and you'll receive a daily email with a brief description of my posting. If I don't post anything that day, you don't get an email... but this way you won't miss any postings.

Rite Aid January Summary

========================================
$26.41 OOP!! AND, that's mostly the one prescription I filled which was $25.00! PLUS I earned $4.00 in SCR's! That's definitely a great start at Rite Aid for the year!

And another Rite Aid trip (from last week... sorry!)

Sorry... it took me a couple days to get this posted. The end of last week got a bit crazy! I had started this posting and never finished and published it...

If you have been following my blog for awhile, you know I have a hard time stopping at just one Rite Aid for the week. Even though I got rainchecks for vitamins and peanut butter Thursday, I figured I'd try the other Rite Aid in town to see if they happened to have any left... they didn't, but I still managed to find a couple more items to buy.

2- Huggies Diapers- $8.99
2- $2.00 off Huggies Little Movers from 1/23 SS
** $6.99 for Pure & Natural or $6.99 for Pure & Natural **

2- Chex Mix- $1.50 (get $1.00 +Up Reward)

Last week's Walgreens shopping

I managed to make it to Walgreens twice last week! I didn't get around to posting my first trip, but here's what I got with my second trip. The first trip looked pretty similar. These are last week's deals so you can't get them anymore- sorry!

6- Nestle Butterfinger Snackerz- $.39 with in-ad coupon
3- $1.00 off 2 printable
** $.11 money maker for each one! **

Cottonnelle TP- $4.00 with in-ad coupon
$.50 off coupon from 1/23 SS
** $3.50 **

$10.07 before coupons and discounts
-$3.43 Walgreens coupons
-$3.50 coupons
==========================
$3.14 OOP!

The way the computer system at Walgreens works is that if you give the manufacturer coupon first and then in-ad coupons second, you can get overage. You just have to make sure you are purchasing enough in other items to offset the overage. That's why I went to Walgreens last week- they had a decent price on TP, and even though I don't want any more candy in my house, I could use that overage to get cheap TP!

3- Huggies Diapers- $8.99
$3.00 off Huggies Pure & Natural (from home mailer)
2- $2.00 off Huggies Little Movers from 1/23 SS
** $5.99 for Pure & Natural or $6.99 for Pure & Natural **

-$20.00 +Up Reward

Some BIG news!

Again, I have been bad about postings the past week- sorry! I still need to finish up my January Rite Aid summary and post my Rite Aid trip from last week. We have some big news in our house. My husband accepted a promotion and we will be moving to the Lansing area. We listed our house over the weekend and started house hunting in Lansing already to narrow down where we'll be moving. He will be commuting until our house sells, and I'll keep on working until we move. We are somewhat optimistic about selling the house- but we still know it could take some time.

And what do I do shortly after finding out he got the job? Check to make sure there are Rite Aid stores in Lansing-- and there are tons! I also found that there are Walgreens AND CVS stores- CVS stores always have great deals and freebies so I will be able to start shopping there too. Plus, the Meijer stores there double coupons up to $.50 and there are Kroger stores that also double coupons! Very exciting!

I'll keep you updated... but just know that things are a little crazy getting the house ready to show. 2011 is definitely continuing to be an exciting year!
